Dear Parents Staff and Students,Can you believe it is May? How quickly this year has passed. This last month of school is chock full of undertakings, between fieldtrips, ISTEP testing, district testing, and celebrations. Please check the calendar as some dates have been changed.
I want to thank all the staff who contributed to the delicious meal prepared for our volunteers. We appreciate our volunteers so much as they help us in every way possible. Thank you to Mrs. Maureen Davis for coordinating this event and to Janine Ravas and Gail Myers for helping to decorate for the special luncheon.
Fine Arts Night is May 8th at the high school. Our students’ art projects are amazing. We look forward to their presentations as well. Our Harmon Notes will also perform. Please come see our students’ artwork and hear our students perform for you.
Second grade finished a field trip to the Fort Wayne Zoo. They have been working on their recycled robots. The robots definitely have their own personalities. What future engineers have we inspired through this project?
Mrs. Dulmes and Mrs. Warner will soon be dressing for Pioneer Day rescheduled for May 17. The students will participate in activities like making candles, biscuits, butter, shelling corn, and sewing buttons. They will play games using string. Hopscotch, marbles, jump rope and square dancing will be enjoyed by the fourth graders as the go back in time to live like the pioneers of the 1880’s.
Kindergarten graduation will be May 23rd at 2:00 p.m., while sixth grade graduation will be May 23rd at 7:00 p.m. We look forward to our celebration of student success. Please join us for these special occasions.
DARE Graduation is scheduled for May 24, 1:00 in the High School auditorium. We will be combining our fifth graders with Northwestern Elementary DARE graduates as well. This is a first time to celebrate with both buildings and it should be a very special. Mr. Harold Vincent, Sherriff Deputy, will be the master of the ceremony.
