  • garrison2Dear Parents, Staff, and Students,

We want to welcome the Advance ED accreditation team who will be visiting Northwestern School Corporation. Howard Elementary School will be visited on Tuesday afternoon, October 8th. The team could visit any classroom and talk to any student or staff member. Accreditation is important not only to Northwestern School Corporation but also to the Howard County community. Accreditation is about looking at our current processes and finding ways to continue to improve what we are doing as a school and as a school system.

October is a very busy month. The seasons are changing and we are finishing our first grading period on October 11th. PTO Movie Night is October 18. Fifties Day is October 21st and our Walk-A-Thon fund raiser is October 22nd. Thank you Mrs. Bentley for coordinating this huge event. Our students have been excited about voting for their favorite student drawn T-Shirt design.

  • cutaboveThe PTO would like all students to “bash” us with Box Tops! The Box Tops Bash will begin on Tuesday, September 3 and will run through Friday, September 27. Students should bring in their valid, neatly clipped Box Tops and place them in their classroom collection box. Every Friday, the Box Tops are counted, and a tally is given in the announcements on Monday morning. If our school meets the goal of collecting 7,000 Box Tops, all students will receive a treat! Remember to start collecting Box Tops now and help our school!
