Message from the Principal

Hello Howard Families,

We we had an amazing full week of school. The kids have learned a lot about how to be patient and flexible. As you know, this year students have assigned seats during lunch. It took some time to for us to get this new routine in control but this week was great.  I am also very pleased with how drop off and pick up are going. I think we have worked out most of the kinks. Thank you for working with us to make this process go smoothly.

We are going to begin NWEA testing beginning August 31st. This assessment is used to determine standards and skills students know well and those they need to work on. We are excited to get the results from this assessment as it has been five long months of no classroom instruction. We want to make sure our kids are on track for success.

In the upcoming week, parents of first-sixth graders will be getting a video from their child's teacher. This video will contain information regarding classroom expectations and routines. Please view the video before Wednesday, September 2nd. On this day,  these teachers will have virtual office hours from 6:00-7:00 PM. This will be a time for you pop in via Google Meet or Zoom and ask questions or just say hello. There will be more information coming about this in an email. For now, save the date!

Have a wonderful week!
